This isn't the first time Sir Robert Bryson Hall II (AKA Logic) has made waves in the music business, having written and performed the anti-suicide anthem "1-800-273-8255" last year. However, it is the first time he's graced the Hot Hitmakers chart, debuting at No. 1 no less!
What makes this feat all the more impressive is the rarity with which it occurs. Hall rises through the ranks on the back Bobby Tarantino II, his 2nd album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, within a year of his first, Everybody. Hall has also become only the 15th artist to earn 10+ simultaneous Billboard Hot 100 songs, joining the likes of The Beatles, Drake, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, & Justin Bieber. He's certainly one of the first to do so as a songwriter as well.
That being said, Hall, who grew up in Maryland, isn't alone in his writing & production process. Additional Hot Hitmakers credited on the album include Adam Feeney (No. 12) for "Midnight," Chris Comstock (AKA Marshmello; No. 10) for "Everyday," and Arjun Ivantury (AKA 6ix) with 6 songs, also making his debut at No. 14 this week.
Also new this week is Dimitri Roger (AKA Rich the Kid) with "Plug Walk" & "New Freezer."
