Five Hitmaker Debuts Follow Kanye's New Album

Jun 15, 2018

No one loves Kanye more than Kanye loves Kanye. Expect perhaps four of his co-writers making their Hot Hitmakers debut this week following the success of Ye. The self-proclaimed 'album' of 7 songs, though short enough to be an EP, has blasted to the top this week, selling 200,000 units.

Though many promised to boycott the rapper, Ye also tied Eminem & The Beatles for most consecutive chart toppers (all 7 songs from the album broke Billboard's Top 40). This success also earns him a No. 5 Hot Hitmakers debut.

Such a feat cannot be accomplished alone, especially in the multi-writer world of hip hop. Though they've earned less notoriety in Ye's success, Malik Yusef (No. 7), Mike Dean (No. 7), Cydel Young (No. 14), & Dexter Mills (No. 20) deserve just as much recognition for their contributions.
